Side Loading of Crosby Shackles

Crosby screw pin and bolt type shackles 3/16” to 3” can be used in side loading applications, when installed corrected with pin secure, and direction of loading is in the plane of the shackle. However, a reduction in the shackles working load limit is required when side loading occurs. This video shares how much of the shackles working limit is lost for various side loading circumstances.
