This paper looks at fatigue and mooring line failures, whilst identifying areas for improvement and providing a more effective and proportionate approach to the prevention of these failures. It also discusses ways to increase safety and efficiency.

It was written with the knowledge from three decades of research and development into the understanding of fatigue and stress on mooring components.
